Famagusta, Bellapais Abbey & Kyrenia – A Journey to Northern Cyprus

Embark on a fascinating journey to the unspoiled northern part of Cyprus, where history and culture blend with breathtaking landscapes. This excursion offers an exciting glimpse into the island’s turbulent past, featuring ancient cities, medieval abbeys, and picturesque harbors.

Our first stop is Famagusta Old Town, a charming coastal city known for its golden sandy beaches, Venetian Walls, and the magnificent Gothic Church of Saint Nicholas. You’ll have free time to explore this historic area, enjoy a coffee, or take stunning photos of the well-preserved medieval architecture.

Next, we journey through the Pentadaktylos Mountain range to Bellapais Abbey, a masterpiece of 13th-century Gothic architecture. Built by the White Canons, this serene abbey offers panoramic views of the Kyrenia coastline and a peaceful, historic atmosphere.

Our final stop is Kyrenia, a city with over 3,000 years of Greek history. Here, you’ll have free time for lunch (optional extra) and sightseeing. Stroll through the picturesque harbor, visit the Kyrenia Castle (optional extra), or simply soak in the charm of this seaside gem.

On our return journey, we pass by Varosha, the famous “Ghost Town”, an eerie reminder of the Turkish invasion of 1974. Once a thriving resort, this area remains fenced off and abandoned, frozen in time for nearly 50 years.

  • Passports or EU ID Cards are required – no photocopies, only original documents.
  • Larnaca clients are transferred via mini-bus to the main excursion bus near Ayia Napa (free of charge).

Privacy Policy

The exact pick-up point and time is given at the time of the booking. Passengers are requested to be ready at their pick-up point 5 minutes earlier.

Prices include transportation from your hotel (or from a nearby pick-up point), service of CTO (Cyprus Tourism Organization) approved guides and entrance fees for the archaeological sites mentioned in this brochure (unless the site is marked as optional extra).

Lunch is not included in the prices.

Passengers that fail to give a cancellation notice at least 24 hours before their pick-up time and passengers that do not show up on the day of the excursion, for any reason including sickness, forfeit all monies paid. Full refund can be given only if passengers give a cancellation notice more than 24 hours before their pick-up time.

Front seat can be reserved only for pregnant women and people with walking disabilities.
